Graphic Sculpture, 2024
After my fall show, Roundabout, at Five Myles, I began working on a new series of sculptural work developed using several of my own original photographic images. Each of these images has been altered in the process of its translation into three-dimensional space. I edited certain elements in order to focus more completely on each photograph’s formal gesture. The aluminum sheets curl like paper clippings and form becomes function as, in some cases, the images’ visual presence become their structural support.
Pieces from this project were recently shown at the Catskill Art Space. They are now on view at Five Myles in an exhibition called First Language.
